Google LTE

I'm sure this has been asked so sorry if this is a repeat. I'm a novice when it comes to the inter workings of how service works but I have a few questions about what's happening. If Google is having so many problems getting the nexus line equipped with LTE, what is stopping them from starting their own cell network? They are getting into tv and Internet so why not cell phone service first? I live just south of Austin, TX and we now LTE with AT&T. When they were running the fiber cable in the area I was told by a friend who works for Verizon that the fiber is primarily for cell service but will eventually be branched into Uverse service. If this is true, why is Google doing this process in reverse order? Or is he full of $hit?

Maybe Verizon did it backwards. The way Google is doing it, all their Fiber customers are actually paying for the lines to be installed, in exchange for free internet for a few years.

Im not clear. What do you mean "equipped with LTE"?? The devices that are LTE come produced/manufactured this way.

Or is your question, "why are carrier having a problem upgrading and activating their LTE networks?"

All about Google Fiber:

I'm signed up for both gigabit service and TV service. Should get hooked up this spring or summer.

Don't be surprised if Google starts their own wireless network. They've been talking with Dish Network, who owns a lot of prime spectrum.

Meaning that the Nexus 4 phone doesn't have LTE capabilities. Pretty lame for a brand new phone.
