google map app deficiencies in play store

Hi all,
I found some difficulties or deficiencies in google map app in play store.
1. This app is not showing saved stars in options.
2. Dropped pins can not be renamed to user friendly names.
3. Directions can't be obtained from a selected point on map to another selected point on map .
4. Desktop (with registered Ac)marked , saved , renamed locations are not reflected in this app.

Is there any app which is void of above deficits.

1) I can't find "options" in version 7.7. It saves the starred location on the map.

2) Not any more. That's one of the things they ruined.

3) Tap My Location and choose a starting location. Then tap "Choose a destination" and choose one. You can't do it by pressing points on the map. (I don't think there's any program, desktop, phone or GPS, that allows that. You can press a point on the map and get its location, then put that into the starting point or destination.)

4) Evidently not yet.

Try using My Directions (free at Play). It doesn't solve the problems, but it makes using Maps a whole lot easier. It lets you keep a list of locations, named any way you like, and will run Maps set to get you from your current location to the one you chose in MD. (Set it to default to Navigate and [probably] Driveway [car] in Direction Type. Preferences is in the menu at the 3 bars at the upper left.)

Thanks, I'd rather it was built into Google maps, but MyDirections will do the job (giving personal names to saved locations).
