Help Google Maps Navigation keeps starting

Hello,

Ever since I installed the latest software update provided by AT&T (baseband DQA1 and security patch level January 1, 2017), I've had the following problem.

Google Maps will start up and begin navigating to the location I last navigated to without any interaction.

Example:

I purposely navigate to a store. When I arrive at the store, I stop the navigation. A few minutes later, I unlock my phone, and Google Maps will open by itself and begin navigating to the store again. If I close out the navigation, several minutes later Google Maps will start navigating again without my interaction.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I'm experiencin this exact same issue on my Nexus 6P. Project Fi is my provider.

I'm also having the same issue on my ATT Galaxy S5. Its extremely annoying. I was able to clear cache and stop it from happening in the applications menu, but after another update that option has been removed.

Try booting into Recovery Mode and clearing the phone's cache partition to see if that helps. See #1.3 of S5 Update Problems - Dummies Guide

Solved (for now).

I installed a new update for the Google Maps app, and haven't the problem since.
