google maps not working properly.

My Google Maps isn't working properly. I can only zoom in so far then the button is greyed out. Very little detail is shown (only major road names, not smaller streets etc). My wife has the identical phone (Xperia X10) and her maps works fine (like mine used to). Also we have both added each other to "Latitude", yet when I click on her location it shows where she was four months ago! Can anybody offer solutions to these problems? Thanks.

Have tried to uninstall Google Maps but it doesn't come up as an option when I go to "Manage Applications". Any ideas???

Can't uninstall when it's running. Click Force Stop button at the bottom when trying to uninstall it. Clear Cache in there too while you are at it.

Still haven't got Uninstall as an option. However as you suggested I did force stop, clear the cache and then re-started it. It works absolutely fine now!!! Thanks for the help

... still can't get Latitude to work though. What am I doing wrong???

Goto Location and security and check the GPS box.
Go into Privacy and check the Use My Location box.
Under Accounts, make sure you have your google account setup. Try and login to google using your gmail account too.
Check under About Phone too...see if you do Software Update....are there any important updates that your phone is missing.
And very first option...Sony Ericsson....make sure you have the correct MMS settings.

I never got Latitude to work when I had one custom ROM installed. But after I installed a different one it worked fine.
