Apps Google Maps please help

Hi, I am creating an application that lets the user select bars, restaurants and other things of interest in the first activity and then it should display google maps with the nearest bars or restaurants nearby and the user's location. I am only able to get google maps displayed but without anything on the map. Anyone know how i can do this? I really appreciate any help. Thanks.

if you want to show the location of bars, restaurants etc. you need to mark them using Overlay. follow this link

Thanks alot.. but is this the only way to display overlay items do you know? I am trying to do as such for example if we go to google maps and type in the search bar for example "Dublin bars" , it will bring up the map of Dublin with all the bars automatically marked on the map. Is it possible to integrate this feature into my application??
