Google Maps process keeps opening itself, why!?

So confused.. I'm pretty sure this wasn't happening before, but now when I go to close extra apps using the app killer, Maps is almost always running. I don't know why - I have Latitude turned off, GPS off, wi-fi off and I don't really know what can be making it run as there are no settings inside the app itself that I can see of.

Help?

I've got the same thing. Ever since I tried out Latitude (then turned it off) it always seems to be there. You can close it with a task manager, but it comes back after a while.

I did some basic tests though and it's using less memory than if you ran the app manually, so for now i've decided not to worry too much about it.
