Google maps results showed backroads not interstatet help

I went on a trip to KY and google maps worked great and gave me interstate routes, but for some odd reason on the way back home to TN google map only gave me backroads. The avoid highways was unchecked, I went ahead and tried with and without that option, but still got the same result. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? Have an LG Dynamic.
