Before the 4.2.2. update google maps was brilliant and since the upgrade they are pretty useless.Has anyone else found this.

The only "issue" I noticed is they took away the property lines. Otherwise I use it on a daily basis and haven't had any issues.

It would probably help if you fleshed out "brilliant" and "useless" with examples. I'm just saying... ;)

I find Google Maps excellent. I especially appreciate the traffic flow overlay (although not always entirely accurate) and the addition of satellite imagery.

I have never seen the earlier version, so I'd be very interested to know how it was better. What, for example, are 'property lines'?

I love Google maps
only thing I can't find is the measuring tool and elevations that used to be in the labs section

I am a very heavy user of Google Maps, they're excellent in my daily experience, especially in combination with Google Now as implemented on my wonderful Nexus 5.

No software app is perfect, yet I find Google Maps simply stellar.

Since the update i am now "on" the junction and the map is lagging so any voice/visual guidance is too late, which in mind is useless.
They were previously brilliant as it was on the ball and accurate.

Do you have a poor GPS fix? That sounds like your main problem rather than the app itself

For the most part I consider Maps to be brilliant, but why-oh-why did they remove the ability to view "My Places" in Maps. Now I have to email myself the URL to a particular map, and I have to make sure the link opens in Chrome instead of Maps.

Or am I just missing something?

You mean by like the places you have been to? Mine still has that option I can see the addresses saves my home n work travel time but I also use Google now

On the map, click the profile icon to the right of the search box, and you can see saved places and recently accessed places. Is that what you are looking for?

I find that all the stuff in Google maps that I think is missing is generally there but maybe you have to access it in a different way. That's been my only gripe about maps. It would be great if they had smarter help where you can ask it questions like "where are my saved places" or "how do I cache this map for offline" rather than dig around the Web for a news forum with the answer because when you search the Web for stuff you always end up getting distracted and end up with porn on your screen. :-)

I was not talking about favorites (or starred items).

I was talking about (on the PC) finding a location (by address, name, whatever), then adding its pushpin to a saved map. You can have multiple maps, say one for an upcoming vacation, another for your favorite bars, whatever.

Then, on the Android device in the Maps app, you could enable the "My Maps" layer, and choose the map you want to display, without cluttering it up with all the other places you have starred.

That feature was removed from the Maps app about 6 months(?) ago, and instead you had to email yourself the URL of your map, and open the URL in a browser on the phone instead of in the Maps app.

I've since found that they added this feature to Google Maps Engine, which is a fairly new app for Android (and definitely needs more work).
