Google Music beta outside the US

Just got Google Music Beta working in the UK. For those who want it, here is how.
You need to hide where your ip address to get an invite. I used Hide My Ass! Free Proxy and Privacy Tools - Surf The Web Anonymously
then from there go to About Music Beta by Google and then request an invite at the top right. Once you have requested an invite you need to wait. Mine took around a week to come. When your invite comes follow the link and set it up. Then you can download the app from here Google Music 3.0.1 - APKTOP
 
great, i just requested one too. how about the desktop software, u nee that to upload ur music right? does that come when u get invited? ive been using the google music android app for a while now, it works well.. needs a few improvements, im sticking with ubermusic til then :D but im excited to try out the service. wonder how much they'll charge for it, seeing that they say its free for only a limited time
 
Yes you get a download link when you get the invite its on the music beta site once you log in. Don't know how much space you get but i've uploaded 26gb with no problems.
 
woah nice. i read something about being able to upload 20,000 songs.. not sure about the size either. how's the streaming quality? any buffering pauses etc? with a decent wifi connection vs 3G?
 
thanks got the invite and added music to library but cant see any of what i have added on the app now :(
but at least im halfway there, thanks again.
 
im uploading now too :D quite slow, maybe its my connection.. taken about 5 hours to upload 200 songs.. another 1500 to go :D although some of those songs are over 10min long

@Steslatt, I saw a message about being invited to the beta test after i installed the app on the phone then i chose my google account for syncing but it doesnt seem to sync. The only music the app shows is what is on my phones memory.
I'm quite lost as to what to do the settings on the app are very limited and on the website there are even less settings to look at :confused:

Success after all this time wondering why google music wasnt working. i have achieved the impossible. not only have i (through the help of many AF members) managed to successfully root my phone but now that i have Google Music is working brilliantly. Thanks Steslatt.
 
just uploaded the music. it skipped three songs and i cant seem to get it to upload em again.. anyway, i cant seem to find the settings either, in the Music app on my phone.. press menu and i just see Shuffle and Search. i'll download the apk u've linked here n give it a shot, i tried with the old apk that i had (same version though)

EDIT: yes, the apk steslatt has posted here works, i think. it has a settings page and i can link my google account. lets see how it goes, will update after i test it. if anyone knows why three songs of mine havent uploaded, let me know :D

EDIT 2: yeah, all working well now. except that ive got a double for each song i have, on the music beta app :D cheers steslatt
