Google Nav Night mode?

It's been available for a while. It was in one of the google maps updates which are released in the market and not specific to any particular Android version.

Does it do this passed on time, or based on the ambient light around the phone? I can't seem to get it to work in either case...

I'm assuming it's based on something like sunset time at your GPS location. It's been working for me for weeks. It should just do it automatically.

Try seeing if there's an update for Google Maps that you can download from the market.

No update and not working for me. It's currently 8:00PM here, the sun set a while ago, and im testing the app in my pitch black bathroom. Still in "day mode".

You have to be in actuall "Navigation Mode" . It does not work by just looking at google maps. Try setting a destination and press go. It will change then.

Yeah, night mode in Navigation only, and I've found it to be less than perfect as to when it switches into night mode...in a few cases it's switched over later than I would have liked.

Thanks for the replys. It seems finnicky but nav did come up in night mode and then back to day and back again. Making an option for it seems like a better alternative, maybe in a future update.

Thanks again.
