Google navigation in overhead mode

I do not like the overhead mode of driving navigation app, I like the first person view which made me follow the arrow. How can change back. Clicking on the north up button does not work

Since a recent update, Google Maps is unuseable for navigation purposes. When it is not blocked out by full screen adverts, it reverts to a tiny map that floats around your screen.
A good app ruined by Google's greed. I bought myself a sat navs and use that instead
I suggest that everyone does the same. In the UK IT IS ILLEGAL TO USE A PHONE AS A NAVIGATION DEVICE UNLESS IT WORKS BY BLUE TOOTH AND YOU DO NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN. Not possible on the current version
Pity. It was great to be able to say to my phone 'Navigate to home.' after a three hour drive in a strange county.
No longer possible.
Get a life Google

:thinking:hmm that may be a matter of opinion or either a demographic or regional issue with Google because my Google navigation works perfectly well here in the United States on my S8. A matter fact it's working so well that every eatery or gas station I stop by, it ask me to rate what the place it's like. But that may be due from me signing up into Google's local guide program.

I've never seen ads in Google Maps before, and not read about this being reported anywhere else, also I was using the latest updated version in the UK last month, although in China I usually use Baidu Maps instead because Google Maps is somewhat lacking here. Where was this update downloaded from, Google Play or somewhere else? Google Maps does support voice control, so should be no need to touch it at all while the car is in motion, or use whatever other BT devices.
