Help Google Navigation problems nexus

Is anyone else having trouble when in google navigation and you try to screen out while only in google navigation and it just comes back on?

this is pretty annoying because when im on the road and dontt have to turn till 20 miles i screen out to save some battery

Are you talking about starting navigation and then hitting the power button to lock the screen? I do this all the time, works fine. Actually helps even if the phone is plugged in because the screen can get hot when it's on all the time.

no i mean when i am actually in navigation mode going somewhere and and i screen lock and it wont itll black out for a split second and then turn back on...

i think it has something to do with the new google map update because before i updated google maps it was working fine and also i uninstalled the updates and it worked fine just with all the google map updates it doesnt work

im also funning gingerbread 2.3.3
and google maps 5.3.1
