Google navigation

Can someone explain to me how to mark favorites on Google Navigator? Also I work in a desolate area that does not always have addresses. Is there anyway to mark my locations as favorites and lastly; is it possible to mark locations with coordinates rather than street addresses?
Help!!!!!!!

As you said, in an area without roads, marked locations in Google Maps will show you the next road, even if this road kilometers off the true location.

My solution is 'GPS Status' :)
If I mark and save my actual location in the app's Radar mode, the app will show me later the saved location in Google Maps/Navigation.
It will be the true location of the coordinates, not an nearby address.

But GPS Status let you save just only one location.

If you need to save more location, you may more detailed post again ... maybe I can help you :)

In Google Maps if you long press a point on the map you will get a location bubble. If you press on the bubble it will open an action page which has a greyed out star top right - press the star and it will turn yellow/orange and you have then set that location as one of 'My Places'. The location will be starred on the map and will appear in your list. Naturally in built up areas it is very accurate for navigation, off the beaten track it will give the nearest recognisable address or feature. It is possible to navigate using lat/long co-ordinates, just enter them for your 'end point'.

To clear a starred location from your list/map press the star and it will return to greyed out.

I have just downloaded Locus Pro which, for

Using 'My Places' in Google Maps for saving favorite locations would be a good solution ... if one could choose a free name instead of the name of the address. ;)

As work arround, I use 'GPS Status'.
I save an actual location in 'GPS Status's Radar mode with a choosen name and then I let 'GPS Status' show me that location in Google Maps.
Maps will show me the location bubble with my choosen name of the location.
I tap on the bubble for open the action page and there I star the location.

So next time I'll find in Google Maps 'My Places' my favorite location under its choosen name :)

@tommo47, with back country areas without addresses you are right about to use other maps :)
For hiking I use Maverick with topo maps.

Yes you can save your favorite place with coordinates instead of street names etc. Even if there is no address or landmark you can still do it.

Here's how you can do:

On your laptop/desktop:

1. Open Google Maps website, search or zoom to your desired location.

2. Right click on that point and click on "What's here?"

3. You can see the co-ordinates in the Search Box or when you place your mouse on that point.

On your Android mobile:

1. Open People/Contacts app --> Add contact --> Give whatever name you want in the name field (location name if you like) --> Add more information --> Postal address --> Choose Work/Home or Other --> Type the co-ordinates that you got from previous steps --> Save

2. For driving directions: Open Google Maps --> Directions --> Choose End-point --> Contacts --> Select the name you saved from above step.

That's it, repeat the same process for any number of places you want and save it with whatever name you want.

Cheers.
