Help Google Now and Bluetooth on M8

I have a bluetooth ear piece and an HTC One M8.

When I press the bluetooth key on my ear piece, and the M8 is unlocked, it goes to Google Now and works wonderful.

However, when I press my bluetooth key on my ear piece and the M8 is locked, it goes to the Voice Search software which is frustrating to use.

How can I change this so that when it is locked, it will open Google Now. It does this on my M7 without any issues.
