Google Now and Traffic Info

So, Google Now is supposed to eventually give me traffic info regarding my daily commute.
Only, with the Nexus 7, I don't see how this is going to work. With no 3g or streaming data (I don't have a router in my car), I can't use Maps to navigate. I don't know how to let G-Now know where I work to give me a wi-fi traffic update in the morning before I leave.
Isn't navigation on a wi-fi only tablet useless?

The Nexus 7 does have GPS that works without a data connection. However, it can only determine traffic info and navagation while on wifi.

I connected to the wifi when I got to work the other day and later it estimated the time it would take to get home. The next day it estimated how long it would take me to get to work.

You will need to have location services turned on in your phone and set your work location click here

Once your work, home, or whatever location is set it will use that as a reference for determine traffic. I hope this helps. I've been using this for a while and it is really cool.
