Google NOW: Can't load search results

I keep getting a "Can't load search results" error on my Google NOW app. This is when using the widget from the home screen or the app directly.

If I search from Chrome all is well. My device is a Nexus 10. Does not appear to be a connection issue because no other issues occur in others apps.

I have tried uninstalling all updates and re-installing Google Search, but that did not correct the problem.

If it happens and I hit search again it will load fine.

Any ideas or has anyone else seen this?

I can't say I've heard of this problem, but maybe more info will provide some insight. Does it happen every time? I assume that you use your N10 on your home wifi network. If you have used it elsewhere, do you experience the same problem? I'd you have another device, does it give you the same error message when used on the same network?

A google search will bring up plenty of others who also have this problem.

Did the OP manage to fix the problem?

I had that happen. For me, it was either when I turned off sync or turned off background data...I forget which. (I was trying to cut down my data usage)

Looks like it might be firewall related for me. Anyone know what ports are needed?
