Root Google Now is awesome

I was getting a little bummed because I don't feel like doing the 235 or 238 ICS ROMs, the Jellybean ROMs were starting to sound tempting but I don't wanna go back to struggling to have a data connection, no working camera, etc, but the successful port of Google Now to ICS has given me something new to mess around with.

Basically Siri for Android. Weather, Traffic, locations, directions, stock prices, many things you can ask it.

I got it by following the XDA guides which were linked to in this story.

Do you remember which version of the .zip you flashed?

I'm running the online only version of Google Now on the .232 leak and so far I love it. Highly recommend to anyone interested.

I have my volume turned down and Google Now's sounds are still quite loud, how do I turn them down???

Google Now is part of the media volume. Unless you adjust the volume at the exact moment Now is speaking, you're actually just adjusting your ringtone volume. You can go into the regular settings>sounds>volumes menu and adjust your media volume there.

I experienced the same issue except opposite, I couldn't get Now to talk when I was trying to show some people how it worked. Got home later that night and realized my media volume was all the way down and trying to use the volume rocker earlier in the evening hadn't worked because it was just changing my ring volume.
