Does google now not work unless you have at least battery saving mode on in location settings?

It'll "work" but you'll get more info with it set to either high accuracy or battery saving because it picks up towers and wifi signals to get a lock on your location.
Ok cause I can't get mine to give any information. It keeps telling me there is not connection.
