Google Photos "Free up space" feature not working

Guys, I use google photos to backup my photos. A few months ago I got an LG V30. I don't remember when it started to happen, but I can not use the "Free up space" feature (If the photos are backed up, it will delete them). When I use this feature, it just says "Can't Free up space. I can see that the photos are backed up, so I don't know why it's not working..

I've already stopped the Application, Cleared Cache and Cleared Data. without help. Also tried uninstalled the app too. Anyone have this feature working on there phone? or am I the only one...

Anyone else have any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated!!

I have the same phone and I have actually never used that feature! I just go thru periodically and delete photos from my gallery when I need too!
