Google Play Auto "Auto Update"

[Dbnguy]

Probably going to be hte weirdest question on here but here goes...

Is there any way that we can "schedule" a time in which Google Play will log onto the market and then update all apps automatically?

EG: If I want my tab to update all apps at say 2am, is there any way to do this that any one knows of?

I don't believe so.

I haven't tried, but it sounds like Tasker could do it.

I didn't know Tasker can control Google Play. Where is that command?

Reread my post until you understand. :banghead:

Let me rephrase my question.

What makes you think that Tasker can achieve it?

You could try setting the play store to update apps automatically, then use tasker to open it at a set time, and close it at a later time.

I'm obviously showing my ignorance, but wouldn't Google Play still run in the background before and after Tasker had opened it?

[sik00]

Most likely yes. Mine runs as soon as my tab boots. You'd have to find a way, if possible, to limit Play Store to run only when you choose.

It certainly would be a nice feature to add at some time, kind of like Microsoft and their "check for updates at this time" option.

I'm thinking anything other than stock operation with Play will require rooting.

On ICS, you can't stop it at all.
