google play crash...

Hey guys today especially my play store has been shutting down or giving me the 906 error code on download..

i got to applications and clear the cash..it restarts ok but after a while it comes back??
odd cause i didn't download anything?unless it updated during the night..

typical Play Store bug. i've had all sorts of errors with it from force closes to oddball 'cannot be downloaded due to an error [number]' and even the 'insufficient storage available' (when plenty remains). Play Store overall sucks so i normally resort to sideloading or using an alternative market such as Amazon Apps whenever it 'Plays' up.

another common Play Store bug is either the 'this app is not compatible with your device' (but it installs and runs perfectly fine from Amazon !) or the 'stuck download of doom' wherein a download is infinitely stuck in your notification area with a 'barber pole' style animation for 'waiting to download' but never happens--i had to factory reset a phone when two downloads were stuck that way permenantly.

All you should have to do is clear data in the play store.

clear data and rebooting but the OP seems to have done that already, reporting that it fixes it temporarily. i deal with this kind of crap from Google Play constantly. surprised it has been broken since Android 2.3.

if there is an 'uninstall updates' option when you go into settings--applications--manage apps--all--Google Play Store try hitting that and it would likely revert to a previous version (the one which came out-of-box with your phone). don't worry, it will update itself again, but should get rid of whatever is causing your download glitch.

Clearing app data and clearing cache are different functions


Data should do the trick.

i clear data uninstalled updates..but i noticed that my download manager was disabled..enabled it and voila...what a stupid problem...thx
