Google Play errors

So today I get the notification for the new Google Maps update, go to download it, and get a 941 error saying it can't be downloaded at this time. So Google/Android says to clear cache/data from the Play market and restart your phone and try it again. Did this, but now Maps, along with about 10 other apps don't even show up in my market...this used to happen on my old HTC Hero, and I would just uninstall an app, and reinstall it and the apps would come back...but thats not working this time, any ideas?!

If I manually go to Google Maps in the search and try to download the update, it says something about "your order is being processed, this may take a few minutes"...

I had that happen to me yesterday with YouTube. It wasn't working right so I uninstalled it. When trying to reinstall it, I received the same error message. I end up doing a factory reset. I did a battery pull first but that didn't work. Hope you find a way to fix it.

I had a similar error trying to update Kindle on my tablet. I contacted support, and they actually got back to me. I get the sense that the tech is genuinely trying to be helpful, but I don't think they really know what's going on any more than we do. FWIW, here's what he suggested (which didn't work). I have the same version of Play as on my phone, which has no problems. In fact, I've had no problem updating other apps on the tablet, so I'm not too concerned.
1. Go to "Home" > "Menu" > "Settings" > "Applications" > "Manage applications"
2. Touch the "All" tab
3. Scroll down and select the Play Store app
4. Touch "Uninstall updates"

This will revert Google Play to the original version that came with your device. Google Play} should automatically self-update to the current version within a few days - there's no way to permanently uninstall updates. However, you can perform the following steps to ensure the latest version of Google Play is updated properly:

1. Launch Google Play
2. Switch to the Home screen
3. Wait 5-10 minutes for the app to self-update
4. Re-launch the Google Play Store app

To check your version of Google Play:

1. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
2. Touch the All tab
3. Scroll down and select Play Store

If you continue to experience issues after temporarily uninstalling updates, please let me know, and I would be happy to continue to troubleshoot.

so apps that I've "downloaded" update just fine, it seems that any app that came preloaded into the phone (ie. google maps, flash player, etc.) are gone from the list now, and if I try to search for them and update them, I get the error messages. They are listed as installed tho. Gunna try uninstalling the market now

Uninstalling the updated Google Play and letting it reinstall itself brought back most of the apps, Street View still isn't on the list, and when I search for it, it still says installed...but it still will not let me run the update on it, same error as before

I was having this error today w/ the Maps 6.5.0 update. I found a way to make it work, came up with it on my own:

-Use the web browser to search the Google Play library for the app
-EVERY time you are prompted "which program to use?" you must choose "Browser"
-The web page will send it to your phone & the update will execute successfully

That worked going through the browser to update and add Street View back to the list...Thanks a lot...I just have to go through now and make sure no more apps are missing still

The Web method worked for me too, to update Kindle. I didn't even do it from the same device, but after a few minutes, the update was pushed to my Tab. I wonder why Google tech support doesn't know about this?

Cool, glad its working for everyone. I know I was upset to see this error on an update.

I saw the error text occasionally alter to 'Error processing purchase'. These two error messages turned up some older threads from when Google was selling the .10 cent apps, people guessed Google's servers may have been overloaded. I am guessing its something like that - I think Google servers have a long list of updates theyve sent your account, like a list of Windows Updates, and that this list gets corrupted.

If it does work like that, I hope the apps that have this problem no longer have it after doing this once, because then your accounts index is on to the next GUID. One thing I saw, that I think 'kinda' supports that idea is, when I was having the error my "up to date" list did not show the app, but now after doing this it does.

who knows...

I hadn't noticed until you mentioned, but you are right once again!

well...since doing this, my app list inside Google Play has once again removed all the "preloaded" phone apps from the My Apps, it went from 45 installed to 30 installed this morning. Is this something Google is trying to do to keep the UI cleaner? Or is something wrong with Google Play?

I could not install the Google Maps update. I got same "your order is being processed..." Error.

So I uninstalled it. I went to Google Play and tried to update, but got same error.

Then I left it for a while, and it popped up a notification about updates, and then it installed.
