Google Play in Android

Google play is market for all official applications of android with Google signature and apparently it also verifies the compatibility of handset towards apps with respect to various factors such as android version, screen size, availability of required hardware, features etc.

I highly doubt that, with a single point of view u r right but ain't other markets are also available that too without any country restrictions.....
Main feature of android is that it is open source. i.e. Anyone can develop or mod it according to his own needs... :)
Google plays basic target is to create easiest availability of official apps with most compatibility at one place. (Though there are country restrictions but we all know how to tackle it)
However Play is now a days getting more complicated by growing number of apps.. Newer games are difficult to find. I think they should introduce refine or filter system w.r.t. time, rating, popularity, price, download.....
