Help Google Play running down the battery?

Since I got the 4.1.2 update Google Play seems to chew up the Battery. I charged the tablet Overnight then unplugged It and went to work. 14 hours later I have 50% battery with 0 use of the tablet. If I read this correct Google Play is waking the unit up for over 2 hours and responsible for 50% of the battery use. The Anyone else having this issue?

I monitor the battery usage of my N7 and I have to say that Google Play as well as several other apps will start using battery power in the background (even if I exited the app days ago). I'll never fully understand how Android's OS works considering that there's always something just running in the background. I was thinking of using a task killer but I've heard about the pros and cons of using those as well. Oh well.

Can you use an app such as better batterystats or GSAM battery monitor? They do a much better job of helping you diagnose issues and better battery stats will actually provide you with solutions some of the time.

Google play doesnt even show up in my normal battery chart.

Found my issue. I had the Google Library widget on one of my screens. Deleted it problem solved. Not sure now if it's related to the update or not. I remembered I added it to the screen shortly before I got the 4.1.2 update. Maybe related to using Apex launcher? Not important enough to spend a lot of time to figure out. Just won't use it.

That widget did the same for me, but that was on 4.1.1, not loaded it since

Battery was fine for about the first month, then the draining started
