Help Google Play Service Won't Install

Basically you're more than likely going to have obnoxious intrusive ads now, as well as good luck with your personal privacy. That's how many of these Chinese, "free" one-click root tools are monetized. And quite possibly the OPs are having to buy new phones as a result, if Malwarebytes or whatever can't remove the Iroot adware/malware from system, without bricking the devices.
 
I haven't gotten to the point where I see ads. I doubt that I will until I can get google play service installed. Until I get that far I will have to wait and see how to cross that bridge when I get to it ... if I get to it. So I ask again ... is there an alternative to Link2SD? Thanks for reading my post. :)
 
If you are rooted, can you connect the phone to a pc with a USB cable? Then you can get to see the root directory, find "data/app", see the apps that came installed that you don't want, and delete them. From here, you can also move the apps you want from the internal storage to the external SD card....
 
Well sir ... when I connect the phone to the pc I see removable disk show up on the computer, but when I click on it I get a message to insert a disk. I don't understand that. It knows something is connected, but there is no disk to insert. I don't think this phone is smart at all. :rolleyes: Any ideas?:confused:
 
If your computer is a Windows based system (I know NOTHING about Mac's).... Once you connect phone via USB cable, pc may ask to install drivers. If not, it may see phone as a separate drive. (E drive on my pc..... Hard drive is "C", Disc drive is "D" and other connected devices become "E"...
 
Also, when you connect phone, you should see something in the notification bar that shows there is a connected device. Pull notification window down, and tap that icon. It should say something about a media device....
 
With me when I plug in the phone I get a "Removable Disk (O:) and a Removable Disk (P:) both ask to insert a disk when I click on either one. I'm not getting any notification when I hook up the phone to the computer. But I can communicate with the phone via the command prompt, by going through the SDK file. I'm looking over some android commands to see if I can find access that way. I don't know the file path which could be a problem but I'm checking it out now.
 
Oh my goodness you are not going to believe this, but I talked with the seller of the phone and he told me to uninstall all the apps on the SD card to make room on the internal storage, then down load an app call Titanium Backup. This app allows me to uninstall apps on the internal storage. I do want to make sure I don't uninstall stuff that will cause the phone to brick. Anyway what is really crazy is now that I have some storage space on the internal storage I wanted to go ahead an install google play service ... I go to the app store ... do a search for the app .... IT AIN'T THERE!!!:eek: How can it not be listed? This makes no sense to me ... how about any of you? Also anyone know how to use the Titanium Backup app? How to force apps to move to the SD card?o_O Thanks.:)
 
Okay ... I found out why I don't see google play service ... I didn't have anything installed that needed it... when I reinstalled youtube then it cried for the GPS ... I have 55.91 mb of free internal storage ... GPS is 37.50mb ... it suppose to go to the SD card yet it is still crying about insufficient storage ... makes no sense unless it needs more than it claims and if so ... how much more?. I only have a total of 102mb for a internal storage. Any ideas???:confused:

Oh great ... I tried to link to sd card with link2sd and I'm getting a message "/dev/block/:device not found ... Make sure you have two partitions on your sd card and both are primary" ... so how the heck am I suppose to do that??? Windows doesn't see the phone ... only in the command prompt.o_O
 
Well sir ... it looks like I'm going to have to order a sd card reader for the PC so I can partition the card. Guess it will take a week to get to me. Will let you know what happens. Thanks for reading my posts. :)
 
If your phone is properly rooted, you should have "supersu" or another super user app installed. Titanium Backup won't work without it. On your phone, in "settings", try tapping on "about phone". From there, tap multiple times on the build #. It should unlock "developer options". If so, under developer options, turn on USB debugging. Then try connecting to pc.

Formating your sd card shouldn't be the issue. For the most part, any app you install can be put on sd card, but there will always be data from that app stored in the internal memory. As stated, Titanium won't work unless you grant it superuser rights. Then, you can move apps to the SD card. Do not move system apps (usually shown in green on Titanium.) You can also freeze or Uninstall any app put on phone as true bloat ware, but make sure you KNOW it isn't needed. A good example for me was Madden NFL. A game put on by Verizon, that I will NEVER, EVER use. Uninstalled as soon as I rooted....

If you want to use Links2SD, formatting the SD Card is an issue and getting the partitions correct is paramount.

Also, freezing, or uninstalling system apps won't make a difference to what the OP wants to do as they will free up space on the system partition, not the data partition (which only has 100MB free space).

Thank you very much El Presidente! I will look that link over while I wait for the card reader to arrive. I must say I've learned quite a bit tinkering with these phones. I pretty much shied away from them for years, but when my friend gave me one and I found it was like a mini computer I was intrigued by it. I've been building and working on my own computers for 15 years now and I enjoy it ... after I get them fixed that is:rolleyes: .... I won't buy another one because I don't have a need for it now that I got the hangouts app on my computer and can talk with my mom that way. But, I sure do appreciate all the posters that are helping me to learn about these devices.:)

The device is hampered greatly by its lack of internal storage being what it is. Steer clear of any device not having at least 1 gig of ram available for use. And even then you must be aware that you will probably need to root those devices to delete bloatware apps from the manufacturer and yes google itself. If you need all the stuff google uses. Its best to get a device that can handle all of the garbage bloatware they WILL be sending your way.
 
Hilly Ho! ... well yes indeed this device is very much hampered by lack of internal storage ... a very good lesson for a person like me that had no knowledge prior to this. I had no idea of the difference in these devices. It will be interesting to see if I can get it to the point that suites my needs ... which isn't very much. The phone will never have service ... just check weather ... the maps ... normal browsing one would do with a computer. I doubt that I would fill the 32Gb SD card. Too bad about the LG phone ... must have been some sort of hardware failure ... just my luck.:confused: Hopefully when the card reader arrives the computer will be able to access it and I can partition it so Link2SD will work. I hope.:rolleyes: Okay question ... will it be alright to move apps like android keyboard ... AppGuidePlugin ... Battery Warning ... Black Hole ... Browser ... Google Services Framework ... Media Storage ... Google Play Store?

There's a google service frame software supporting google play,you have to check that. Cause my phone happened the same because my phone didn't support google service...
 
Well sir ... I got the card reader and partitioned it with mini tool. Now when I go to Link2SD and I try to link to the card I get this message ... "Not Mounted ..../data/sdext2 mount not found." When I do the create mount scripts and I select the ext2 it just hangs there on please wait. I set the drive as a FAT32 and when I click on the FAT32/16 button I get into the program ... then when I try to link I get that message about not mounted. What do I need to do???

Hilly Ho!!! Okay ... this is where I am so far ... I got Link2SD installed but I am getting a "Mount script cannot be created. mount: Invalid argument." So I read that in order to solve that problem I have to unlock the bootloader. I had to use the SDK program to do it, but when I type in the command "fastboot ome unlock" I get an error message ... " 'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file."

But what really bothers me is when I do the adb devices command I get "'adb' is not recognized ...." Before it would list the device. I had to uninstall the java I had to have in order for the SDK to work in order to install the lastest java update ... I was getting an error while installing java ... but I reinstalled it after the java update and the SDK. Can anyone help me over this hurdle?
So does anyone know what the correct language is for my JellyBean 4.2.2 OS??

Hilly ho!!! Wellsir ... figured out why I was getting those command errors. I was in the wrong part of the file when I went to the command prompt. I was suppose to be in the folder with the adb.exe file ... once I went there and opened the command prompted it understood the commands.

I tried the "fastboot oem unlock" command and all I get is "waiting for device" and a blinking cursor. Waiting for over 30 min. .... nothing honey ... I tried the command with the phone in normal mode and in factory mode. The same response. I did the adb devices command and the phone was listed so the computer does see it.

The question is why is it waiting for the device? What's it doing? Just hanging out chilling? What? Also I installed LinkSD plus, in the hope it would help my situation, but still get the mount script error I mention in above post.

So still need to figure out how to unlock the fastboot. I feel we are getting closer to a solution though. ;)
