Help Google play services eating up data!

KTG97

Lurker
Hi guys. I recently bought a new Galaxy S7 and have been using it for the past week. However I noticed that my google play services has been eating up some significant data in the background. From what I have discovered is that the main data usage is from the Google play miscellaneous?? Pls help and advise as I have only 2GB of data a month.. In addition I also noticed android OS also happens to eat some data. Just wondering if it's normal or it could be prevented. :(

Haha but apparently I think my s7 might be the most up to date Android? It's running 6.01 I think! :(

Ahh, that's good to know. Most likely you are syncing something in the background. Like YouTube, Photos (Picassa), Gmail, Drive......Have you checked the sync settings. You could try a firewall App like

No Root Firewall
or
NetGuard

If you can find the offending application.

You can also disable all background data via the Data usage menu.

I can't disable all background data.. If not it would cause my WhatsApp and telegram to stop working? Btw thanks for the help! Appreciate it!
