The Playstore might be a downloaded app. It shows in my download list. Removing the icon from a homescreen shouldn't have resulted in it disappearing from the app drawer - so this is puzzling.
I guess I would try a few things (short of an FDR):
1). Long press on your homescreen. A list of Apps will appear. Scroll to the right and verify it's not in the list. If it is in the list, select it.
2). Power Cycle the phone. Does the icon appear in the app drawer? If so, long press on it and drag it to your homescreen.
3). Settings | Application management | Downloaded, see if the Playstore is there, and enable it. Go to the All tab by scrolling right. Is it there? How about scrolling all the way to the right to Disable. Is it there?
4). Maybe you could Google it (Google Playstore APK), and side-load the APK file from the web. Side-loading means you are installing a file from a location other than the store. When you press on the link to the file, it downloads onto your phone. You go to the .APK file using the File browser, and you press on it, and it will ask you to remove the restriction on installing files from unknown sources.
