I recently read about Google changing some rules regarding permissions for apps on playstore and how Tasker's request to allow for it to have access to Contacts and messages was turned down. Has there been any development in this regard and has 'joaomgcd' released any work-around for this?

Google has allowed Tasker access again:

"We reported last week that popular Android automation app, Tasker, had been denied access to call logs and SMS send, receive and read functions. That meant the disabling of a multitude of app features due to Google’s policy to protect the privacy of users. Google has since restored Tasker access to these functions so long as the developers adhere to some rules and regulations."

Just wondering how come I can never access it on my p.c., and how come it is fast on my phone?

The Google Play Store? Maybe a connectivity issue?
FWIW I can access it on my computer and phone, but I must have my VPN running.
