We're likely going to start seeing a mass influx of Bluetooth beacons put all over the public areas in hopes to attract more customers to various destinations.
Google has a couple of beacon APIs like Google Nearby and Proximity Beacon that will work in conjunction with Android devices. With this new app from Google, developers will be able to add your beacon to the Google Beacon Registry.
