Google search bar

Is there a way to remove the persistent search bar without changing launchers or rooting?

Um, I just dragged it into the trash. Did you try that? It's the first thing I do on any new phone. I can't stand looking at it.

On the stock launcher, the Google Search bar is not a widget but actually built into the launcher. Unless you switch launchers, there's no way to remove.

Like Hiwatt, I have always been able to just long press on the search bar and drag it to the trash can. I've always used the stock launcher on numerous phones and have never rooted. Maybe the F3 is different, but this was the first thing to go on my current HTC Desire...

Yes, sorry. F3 is different and it's stock launcher does not allow you to remove the Google Search bar.
