Google Search Issue possibly caused by July Update?

Sara222

Newbie
My results for any Google Search only shows the top results. One or two results at most and will show similar questions people have asked. That's it. It seems to be whiting out the bottom half of the page upon searching.
Things I've tried:
Updating Google App
Uninstalling updates
Restarting phone
Restarting in Safe Mode (same result)
Clearing Cache and Data for Google App
Syncing
Removing Primary Email account
Adding Primary Email account again

It works fine in Chrome with no issues.
Also works fine if I select More and then select Use Without An Account, which is not ideal for me.

I now have to wonder if somehow this could be related to an update? Noticed my latest software update was a week ago now.

It's just really bugging me! Grrr.

try and wipe cache for google search.

I did. Unfortunately with no difference.
It's odd. I've noticed now I can click on the whited out part which is half the page in the results and it will go to individual results of a search, but obviously I can't pick and choose and it's pretty useless but interesting (to me anyway. Haha.)

Thanks for responding, btw.

Hi there. Sorry to hear you're having the same problem. I've now searched quite a bit and only recently found a Google Search Community Forum. So far a couple other people have this issue as well but no one has a solution yet. Might be good to keep an eye on though. https://support.google.com/websearch/thread/10138803?msgid=10138803
Thank you very much for your reply I really appreciate you keeping me up-to-date and hope to see a solution some Google soon

well as a last resort, you guys can do a factory reset and see if that works. i have had updates previously get all screwy on my phone and had no choice but to reset it....which worked. it sucks, but it is worth a try if this bug really annoys you.

I'm not sure it's bugging me quite that much yet. ;)
