I checked the amount of data I was using today and it was using crazy amounts. I have auto-sync disabled and restricted background data on for Google Services, although I think that only affects mobile data. This has been going on for over a week unnoticed.

So I saw that and restarted my phone hoping it will fix it but it didn't, So I checked my battery to see what app is using the most battery and it was Mediaserver which was using 43% (although I didn't have a battery problem until yesterday).

Anyone know how to stop this madness? My home internet is getting throttled now because of the phone eating up a huge chunk of data.

I'm unsure what Google Services includes sorry but sometime else will know and hopefully narrow it down to the offending process.
For now, can you scroll down and limit background data for that app? (in settings, data usage)

50 gigs of data wtf have you been downloading lol,and on what kind of phone?

ive never heard of such a thing ever especially if you say its just google services

seems if you have auto backup on it can do this easily photo backup auto etc over a mobile connection.unsure if thats the full reasoning but if you got videos in the mix too i can see how itd raise high.make sure your auto backups are off i guess
