Google voice Transcript

So just wondering and i imagine its more common than i think, but the transcript you get from your google voice is kinda off in what it think it hears.

........or maybe i just have a very deaf robot gathering this information for me.

i think the transcripts are pretty decent actually. knowing the transcripts i have received and who i have received them from, it has a lot of trouble deciphering those who mumble or talk really fast. other than that though, i am usually able to figure it out.

You can click whether or not you think the transcript was helpful, and donate it to Google for them to make their transcriptions better...

Some of them are pretty funny, but usually I can make out most of the message, or at least enough of it to make it useful. Some of them are so far off that I have to listen to the message to have a clue though. Still way better than paying Verizon for visual voicemail.

Usually its the "errs" and the "umm" that screw it up for me. Some translation mishaps on my voice mail:

Although I feel if anyone can make this feature work it’s Google. Currently, it’s just not at an usable state. If I got a text message with this transcript I can’t say I would have any idea what to do. Furthermore, I don’t think I would have enough confidence with Google’s transcript to actually call back a phone number that was given in a voice mail. As I mentioned before though if anyone can do it, it’s Google. I’m waiting to see what other features they roll out as the beta goes public.

^ yes thankfully you can listen to the voice mails. otherwise i would be boned.

though looking at the texts it sends you from time to time are rather interesting
