to be more specific, is anyone having problems setting up google voice on their behold 2?

Google Voice will work good on the Behold 2. The only problem is that it will force close on startup. (From my inferences it seems to happen on all Android 1.5 devices.) If you then open it up after start up it should work fine.

I also have it forwarding an email to my gmail (push) so that way I get a faster notification when someone sends me a txt.
