Google Voice

The situation is this... I have good Verizon voice call service everywhere except in my house. In my home, the calls are hard to hear, scratchy, etc. Weird, I know. But, I have 100mbps cable internet, and my phone is always connected to Wi-Fi when I am in the house. So, I was thinking if I use Google Voice to make calls, the calls would be much more clear. I created a Google Voice account. I have the app installed. Now how can I make it so that all calls I make via my dialer go through Google Voice? In the settings for Google Voice, it looks like it only works for International Calls. What's the scoop? Thank you!

It has this under "Making Calls":

* Only use Google Voice for international calls

* Do not use Google Voice to make any calls

* Ask every time I make an international call.

That's it.

On initial run after installing, it goes through a wizard. The wizard has those same three options. You can't cancel the wizard...otherwise the app will never start. It always goes to the wizard.

Even when the calls go through GV, they're still using your Verizon phone service. GV is mainly a phone routing service. For traditional VOIP with GV, you need a computer and a Gmail login, not a smartphone.

You can use GrooVe IP. The Lite version is free and lets you place / receive calls over WiFi. The calls will use your Google Voice number rather than your Verizon number.
