Google Wallet now available?!

Anyone else download wallet from the play store? I thought it wasn't supported...
 
I have it from the play store but it is not really functional. You can send money like you could with Gmail or see your purchases but tap to pay doesn't work.
 
One more reason I'm waiting for this update to roll out -- I want my Wallet tap to pay back! (ISIS notwithstanding.)

 
I used ISIS on Black Friday at Target. They gave $10 to try it out so I figured why not. It worked as well as Google Wallet did, although it is on a pre-paid AmEx card. I likely will not load any more money on it though.
 
I agree it's pretty similar. I don't like that it times out so quickly, requiring me to re-enter my PIN at the register. With Google Wallet, I could adjust the time out period and it would be ready to go.
 
I just opened up my Wallet App and checked the settings. Normally when I check the settings, Tap and Pay says it's unavailable. Today I was playing around, in the settings this time was "How to Tap and Pay." I'm not rooted, nor do I have 4.4.

Did Verizon finally release control since it's inevitable? Is it working?

I don't see a setting that says Tap and Pay.
 
A big warm hug and "welcome back" to Google Wallet tap-to-pay. No love lost kicking ISIS to the app drawer. Celebrated with coffee at Peet's this morning. Too bad they didn't have a KitKat-flavored mocha on the specials board.
 
I went to Jamba Juice for a Smoothie and found they have NFC payment. I decided to try out the Google Wallet App. It works great but I learned that it's best to open the Google Wallet App first and enter the pin code before placing the phone near the NFC reader. It will go much smoother that way. No pun intended.
 
Yep, thing I hated most about ISIS is out would unpredictably time out -- I couldn't reliably set it up beforehand.

Google Wallet lets me set the time out period, so it's ready to go when I'm at the register, so long as I'm unlocked, even if I'm on the home screen or in another app.
