I really don't want to lock up my phone, but just swipe the screen and Wham! you have access to my Gmail. And, if you signed into Gmail then you can use Google Checkout. I discovered this when buying apps and haven't found a solution as of yet. I guess that I could tie it to another Gmail account. Surely someone out there knows a solution to this. Again, I really don't wan to lock the phone or have to sign in to Gmail every time I check my email.

The only solution that I know of is putting a security pattern on it, or as you said, linking it to another Gmail account that does not contain sensitive financial information.
