Help Google's SMS backup

Hello all

Does anyone know how Google's SMS backup actually works? I just checked and it says the last time it was backed up was 3/19. Today is 3/25. Has anyone noticed a pattern of the backup? Maybe its weekly? I havent noticed a pattern.

I dont see any manual way to back up SMS messages. Does anyone know a way to do that?

I wasn't aware SMS were actually backed up automatically, I've always used one of the SMS Backup and Restore apps available on Play.

Where are you seeing this info if you don't mind me asking?

Works well and it's free.

wasn't even sure that this was a thing... how are you using googles sms backup, where did you get it from?

There's an app called SMS Backup+, which can automatically back up messages to a folder in your gmail account. But like everyone else, I wasn't aware that Google did back up SMS.
