Gorilla glass = tough stuff

As I was removing my car battery to hook it up to a trickle charger, I started to carry it across the driveway. Naturally, wearing slippers, I hit a snag and tripped violently. My phone flew out of my jacket pocket and went sliding across the concrete driveway on its face at a very high velocity. No screen protector.

Now, I am *very* picky about any scratches or blemishes. However, I was surprised to see none. I mean none. Wow. I can't see any blemish, at all, and nobody looks as hard as I do.

There is some minor damage to the plastic casing surrounding the screen, as you'd expect, but that doesn't bother me.

The phone didn't even 'break apart' (battery cover come off) as my old Captivate would every time it hit the ground.

Of course, I'm still a little pissed I missed the AT&T's version of the GS2 by a month, but that is a whole other topic.

it's a good phone anyway, just enjoy the infuse ;)

Yes, and I can not say that I have missed the dual core processor. The bottleneck seems to almost always be I/O in everything I do. The camera is sharp enough, great in fact (both front and back). Any sharper and you get to being almost too sharp, lol. Those are the only differences... other than the slightly smaller screen size of AT&T's GS2.

There's the skyrocket now lol. Run cm7 on your phone and you will get better performancethen any stock rom for the gs2.

Is that an empirical observation or are there benchmarks to show that? Does it have Swype?

.. And I did not know the SkyRocket was out, darn it. That's ... Well, that's technology. I just bought at exactly the wrong time. I can accept 6 months off, but 1 month off.. darn it. I knew the GS2 was coming, but they keep these release dates so secret

I haven't been quite as hard on the phone as you but I am very pleased with the glass. And it seems to clean up nice too. It is always looking like new. I hate scratches too. Wish my glasses were made of that stuff.

Of course, let there be no misunderstanding. This does not mean we will stop working on the car in our slippeers. :D
