Got notification for jb 2.2 this morning

Before I let it install I would appreciate feedback from those who have installed it.
What does or doesn't work?
Is it slower than before?

I am in CA by the way.

I'm not sure but earlier today I went to do a check for updates and got a different message from the your "software is up to date message". It seems like an update is available, but the message said something like, people will get updates in the order they checked, try again later, as if the server is busy.

I'm at work so I'll have to try when I get home in the morning.

The message I get when I tap on Update is: "Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try later." Of course no update yet.

Yes, that is the message I get. I am at work, when I wrote mine, I couldn't remember exactly what it show.

I guess it means an update is available?

I got the message it was already downloaded and ready to install on Mon. I had automatic notifications checked. Now I get the damn popup whenever I turn on my tab and have to do the "later - 3 hours" check.
I just don't want to install it til I hear more about it. Newer is not necessarily better and I remember reading it made the tab slower from users in ?Europe?

I did the kies thing. Took 35 minutes to download and update that program onto my laptop. Loading full 3D Autocad from DVDs is faster!

Updating the Tab was a breeze, no drama or heartache. Very little difference in function or speed. Found a new photo editing app called Paper Artist.

YOU CAN NOW MOVE APPS TO THE SD CARD!!! Finally, back to 2.3. I moved 12 apps and they all seem to work fine.

A new start up screen with a boat is the only thing different.

It is super slow and sometimes unresponsive. Trust me, do not update your firmware. 4.1.1 is way better. Perhaps the hardware on my GT 7.0 isn't powerful enough to run 4.2.2 smoothly. I'd rather have an older firmware that runs smoothly than the latest with poor performance.

But mine runs perfectly fine. No speed or lag issues and I was using the crap out of it last evening.

Go ahead and update, no problem...

I received the update today but haven't really had time to play with it. So far it seems to run about the same as the 4.1.1 ver....I never did get the 4.1.2 update, but glad to have this one.

What is the Smart Stay and what is that Eye looking icon near the Clock?

Installed the 4.2.2 update this evening. No problems. No noticeable change in response time. Wi-Fi, BT and GPS work normally. The Move to SD works just like the 2.x OS did and just like 2.x and as expected not all apps are coded to allow moving a portion of them to the External Micro SD card. I added about 700 MB to my available internal memory. The 8 GB internal memory just became much less of a limitation. It may not be a Nexus 7 but it does everything I want very well. I purchased the white Student version with the keyboard dock.

Very pleased

Still have not installed 2.2 but the popups saying new firmware ready to install seemed to have stopped. Weird but good.

I'm using kies. It seems to have stalled. I'm not sure what happened, it was downloading and we went out to eat dinner. Came back and the upgrade progress progress shows 0% and the Tab screen says downloading... Do not turn off target!!

Edit: well, I fixed it. I decided to unplug and turn off the tab. I was then able to power it back on. Once powered back on I was able to do the update by WiFi. I now have 4.2.2 on my Tab. :-)
