+1 for AT&T customer service. I got two new Galaxy Note's on a new plan/account and I asked the rep to waive the activation fees. He said this is a standard practice that everyone has to pay when activating a new/different phone. I said very briefly that I took a big risk returning to AT&T considering my past experiences and he went ahead and clicked around a little. Not a few minutes later they were waived. I don't know if this would work for existing customers or not, but it only took a couple of minutes so I'd recommend you give it a try. That's like 60 bucks or so I saved
