Welcome to Android Forums!
Considering the circumstances and the nature of malware, I'm inclined to ask this:
Did you download any software to "repair" or "remove" the virus?
We need to know this, because THAT is likely the offending app. Here's how it works:
A pop-up ad on a website tells you you're infected. You're really not... well, not yet. It then prompts you to download and install a repair or removal tool. Guess what? That tool is the malware! And once it's installed, it probably has permissions that are scary: a system app sending back personal data to the home base and bugging you to install MORE malware.
Here's a potential fix: download and run AVG. It will run a full scan of your device. If it doesn't find and remove the offending malware, you may need a full factory reset, which is located in Settings --> Backup & reset. You will need to select "Factory Data Reset", which will restore your device to out-of-the-box condition.
WARNING: A factory reset will delete all user data! Backup your important data, such as photos, videos, music and documents to a PC before resetting!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but malware is nasty stuff. Now keep in mind that if you DIDN'T download or install anything, there could be another culprit. But a scan by AVG should find them. If not, a factory reset should wipe them all out.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
It's great to have you here
