I am not sure what you mean about activating your GPS... you should be able to turn it on by going "menu=>settings=>location services=>GPS satellites" this will turn on the GPS capabilities of your phone. You would normally need to have a mobile data enabled for the GPS to work, as most GPS apps require a data connection (to download maps). There are some GPS apps that do not require a data connection to work (such as navfree) that may be of interest to you though
When you say trial period, it tends to suggest that you are talking about a specific app where you only got a trial and would have to buy the app in order to keep using it. We would not be able to discuss getting around a trial period that has expired, as it would be against site rules.
