GPS app

I guess I am asking an old question but a different way. I have a LG Thrive with some LOG/LAD apps and they are good but I want a on board GPS program and the ability to load eastern USA area maps on the SD card. I just want to see my location on the map. I have car/hand GPSs to do navigation. I just want to know where I am when I only have my phone. Copilot and the like are "FULL Function". I just want a strip down version able to have maps. What I have found do not support the USA.

Try Gaia. I think it's a data-less gps app

Navdroyd does have a navigation capability, but is inexpensive and doesn't need a data link.

Have a look at 'Maps (+)' (search market for Codeminus).
You can download maps on your SD card and use it offline.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I have found what I was looking for. (MapDroyd with OpenStreetMaps). I downloaded my area and my phone marked my exact location on the map. I have yet to try it while I am driving but it is a start and it is free.
