gps auto disable

hey guys i have setup a profle to auto enable and disable GPS which works great but for certain instances like when i start navigation the gps turns on but it happens a few seconds late so the phone says no gps on and when u go to the screen the gps turns off. So to avoid this i added a time out of 1 min before turning the gps off. My query is can i add a stipulation to the timer of 1 min that if these apps start again do no turn gps off else turn it off.

Doesn't sound like anything complicated.

As far as I know, there is not ability to test if an App is running except using a context.

If it is not convenient to add context to your existing profile to do what you want, you can create a brand new profile.

Profile TestApps123
Context: Apps Running: App1, App2, App3
Enter Task: Stop
(the profile does nothing at all, but it's only active when the Apps are active).

Now add an IF statement to your original task so that so you only turn off GPS if that new profile is not active (meaning those apps are not running). Something like this:

IF %PACTIVE !~ *testapps123* THEN
turn GPS Off
END IF

thanks but im a noob when it comes to tasker and all this just goes straight over my head, i manged to create a new profile like u mentioned but this IF portion of it i need to add in my existing profile where exactly? Do i add it in the time context that i have set or in the secure settings gps disable? Or do i need to create a new task all together? Thanks for all ure help.

Create a brand new profile as above (Profile TestApps123)
Put the If statement just before your GPS oiff statement in your existing task, and add “end if” afterwards.

I created a youtube video which may or may not make the answer clearer.

In the video, “example profile” and “example task” represent your existing profile and tasks.
In the video, “detect maps” profile plays the role of TestApps123 above.

Let me know after you’re done viewing it, I’ll take it down (I don’t think it would interest anyone else).
