Root GPS conundrum with AOSP ROMs

I have tried the standard version of Cyanogenmod and also one that is varied slightly which are by far the best ROMs I have flashed yet, but of course I hit the wall with the GPS issue.

I have tried the supposed easy fix, and flashed two separate sense-based ROMs to try to lock the GPS and flash back to the CM ROMs. The GPS sensor is just thinking and thinking just like it did with the AOSP ROMs loaded.

Any thoughts?

I flashed KillaSense and downloaded the GPS Status app from the play store. Open GPS Status and let it sit for a bit while it locks on to multiple sattalites (the fix I found said at least 7). Then I flashed back to CM7 and loaded my recovery. GPS worked fine after. If this doesn't work I don't know what to do.

I had the issue where it couldnt find my location when using CM7 at first. I found a weird fix to help me a long time ago. Something about finding my location in a previous ROM before installing CM7.. sorry I can't be more helpful than that, but if you're good at searching for the solution, maybe that will give you some direction. Also, maybe someone else will know what I'm talkin about and have some more detail.

You may need to do a complete wipe first. I'd try the earlier suggestion of the GPS lock app, then perhaps going more drastic with a cache/davlik/data wipe it still doesn't work. You might also try rooted stock and see if that gets your lock back.
