Im running ICS and yesterday for the first time i was trying GPS in the street and it never worked...
It keeps telling me searching and i downlaod an app that says it can see 4 or 6 sattelites but it doesnt fix or lock to them.. sometimes it does for a few seconds and it goes back to searching.
I read there is a way to fix this but i think you have to be on rooted tablet.
I have no root, Im on updated ICS.
Is there a way to fix this? or I can try the fix without been rooted.?

I have both GPSFIX and GPS Essentials on my tablet and they do help. ICS GPS seems more user friendly and I have experienced some early non fixes. I found for my machine if I turn off the GPS and reboot the tablet , then turn the GPS back on it seems to connect better. Not sure which map program you are using but that might be a factor as well. I use Co Pilot, and have for over 12 years as a trucker it's essential to my job. Each tablt has responded differently to the ICS update, so good luck!

Not sure if this might help. Are you trying to use Google maps? If so then don't forget that you need a connection to the internet. you might try one of the free navigation apps from the market. I like NavFree. there is both a USA version and then the rest of the world. Also Navit and I believe some of the paid apps like CoPilot have a trial version for you to try.Anyway let the rest of us know how you solved the problem.
