Help Gps facing wrong direction

Hey guys, I may be crazy, but when I use my GPS son my GS3, the blue arrow that symbolizes by phone and the road do not actually move in the same direction that my car is traveling. It will read the correct directions, but the animation does not match it. So if I am traveling north, the arrow on my screen will be going south. Really annoying, anyone else had this????
 
Found a solution...touch the red and white compass at the top of the navigation screen and you'll be realigned.
 
Could you guys elaborate on the issue? Does it happen all of the time? What about if you do a quick restart before you begin traveling? Does that do anything?
