Root GPS Fix for MIUI

Hey guys I was just wondering if its possible to get a GPS lock as quick as the SHARP ROM does for the 1.11.25 MIUI build ?

The best bet would be to replace your gps.conf file with Chairshot215's updated

Just download that file and replace the one on your ROM. It should be located in system/etc/. While this will help in the speeds of connecting, there is still some code that I have added in the BoardConfig.mk which can not be added into the MIUI ROM.

If we had the source code for MIUI it maybe possible but the MIUI team still has not released all the code, and what little code they have released mostly looks like decompiled code from their ROM.
 
It wont always beat out sharp and not as fast as when combined with G60's BoardConfig fix but should be much better then what it is now. I Have found that as long as you haven't just turned on data or rebooted it can be pretty dam fast. Otherwise it would not help until a bit after connecting with Google servers.


This is basically the file I am using. Its not much different then what is found in sharp. Should work in most Roms, just back up the old if you do as I have not done much testing outside of CM7 and is one of those not responsible use at your own risk deals.

Would need a Root File Explorer and just be sure to set as R/W and that the permissions are the same as the other files in the directory,




and that Mediafire did not add an extension in the name like .txt, should only be gps.conf.
 
Any other tips to improve fix? I absolutely love MIUI and can't find myself changing to any other rom, I'm a slave to looks x.x

And I the same, MIUI is perfect for me in every way except for the fact that the GPS rarely locks.

BTW, can you update the link for chairshot GPS.conf, that link is broken and I lost the file after flashing 2.4.20
