GPS forever "temporary" - FOREVER NA

Hi guys

I am using Samsung S Advance GT19090 with GingerBread AD DXLK2, 3 months old.

I have gMaps, Syngic & Navitotal in it. With GPS on they were all working until recently.

Now even in gMaps, with GPS blinking, it keeps forever saying "temp.. not availiable."

There was no update on gMaps or the others, location just can't be fixed. Cleaning all data in gMaps is no avail.

Questions:

1. Is it hardware issue? (the mobile is only 3 months old). How to check if it is a hardware problem?
2. Is it there is no signal from the satellite, i am in Malaysia. The last time was in Spain, no problem. Earlier also no problem in Malaysia too.
3. Why it do take sometime before the location can be determined, is it the mobile effectiveness or is it the satellite or is this normal?

Advice appreciated to map out next action.

The GPSTest app was first not showing any satellite BECAUSE i was doing it in a 2 storey building. Once i was outside but still with a porch roof over my head, 8 satellites appeared but all grey, meaning none was being used. The minute i move out from the porch to the open air, all the satellite signal coloured up. The next instant my position was correctly found.

So there is nothing wrong with the hardware, just learning how to use the GPS. Thansk vosg for the lead.

Just indulge me a bit more!

How is it sometimes even in the open space with 8 - 10 grey satellites immediately appearing 10 of seconds in the gpsTest app, non of these were used until perhaps well after 5 minutes. Any idea why? :smokingsomb:

Try to update AGPS but wait until you've got a solid fix. This should help you get a faster fix next time you use GPS.
